Our first Nor-East'r

We've survived our first real East coast storm, and I have to say, it's not that bad. The weather is warmer today than it's been in weeks and the kids had a great time playing in the snow (after much convincing just to get them outside) I complained about not having a white Christmas or a "real" winter, so here it is! I won't complain any more :)

Our back yard

I'm just glad we didn't get it as bad as New England with 1m of snow! Our back yard has a lot of drifting and I'm sure it would almost come up to my waist, if I were brave enough to venture out there. I've cleared a path so the dogs can go do their business. I keep telling them if they learned to use toilet they wouldn't have to go outside (both my dogs are wimps) but all I get is a cocked head and questioning looks.

The howling wind is not so pleasant, but again, it wasn't as bad as some areas. In Yarmouth they clocked 164km/hr winds which is just over 100 miles an hour. Yikes! My new snow shovels are getting a lot of use and I have the sore back and arms to prove it. Cheers everyone!
